Closing Physical Plant Check List

To be done before the closer leaves at night to ensure the salon is ready for the customers the next day.

1. _____ Walk through the salon, picking up any garbage on the floor and tables.

2. _____ Straighten up the changing rooms, bringing the used gowns to the laundry.

3. _____ Empty and clean out the coffee pots. Clean coffee station.

4. _____ Straighten magazines.

5. _____ Take out any garbage left in the salon.

6. _____ Shut off clothes dryer.

7. _____ Check to make sure that all curling irons, blow dryers etc. are shut off.

8. _____ Restock the retail shelves and dust

9. _____ Clean make-up Products and restock tester.

10. _____ Turn off all wax pots

11. _____ Bring all laundry to the laundry room bins.

12. _____ Wipe down benches and chairs in the waiting area.

13. _____ Breakroom is picked up and the back door is locked.

14. _____ Computers are turned off and desk is neat and organized.

15. _____ Make sure all hood dryers are off and the blow comb station is picked up and appliances unplugged. Product bottles are wiped down.

16. _____ Make sure that all assigned duties for the day were completed

Morning Physical Plant Check List

To be done by the first person opening the salon to make sure the salon is ready for customers.

1. _____ Walk through the salon making sure there is no trash, towels, or hair on the floor.

2. _____ Spot clean any marks or prints on the windows, doors, mirrors and front of the desk.

3. _____ Wipe the coffee station and coffee pots, then make coffee.

4. _____ Make sure the bathrooms are clean and sanitary.

5. _____ Stock towels, tissue, and hand soap in the bathroom.

6. _____ Dust the computers, including the keyboards.

7. _____ Make sure the magazines are neat and/or put away.

8. _____ Turn on wax pots

9. _____ Start laundry

10. _____ Turn on computers

11. _____ Print necessary reports for the day ( ie confirmation and new client)

12. _____ Stock desk supplies ( ie tip envelopes, pens, etc..)

13. _____ Clean and dust the desk, wiping down the top of desk with soap. Sanitize the phones.

14. _____ Dust the computers, including the keyboards

15 _____ Double check the deposit from the night before.

16. _____ Make sure the retail shelves are stocked, neat and dusted

Entry / Retail Areas
No hand written signs, Signs in good condition and current, Baskets in good condition, Fully stocked shelves, Testers in good condition, Fresh-looking floral, No smudges on chrome and glass, All light bulbs working

Front Desk Areas
No outdated press releases, No magazines or beverages, No NOTES taped to the desk, Desk must look organized, NO cups, pop, or staff personal, items in view and Phones,computers,calculators clean

Coffee & Gown Area
No outdated press releases, No magazines or beverages, No NOTES taped to the desk, Desk must look organized, NO cups, pop, or staff personal, items in view and Phones,computers,calculators clean

Waiting Area
No old / torn magazines, Style books in good condition, Magazines in binders, Organized magazine areas and Coffee cups, etc. continually picked up

Shampoo Area
Ceiling tiles / vents clean, No hair in sink drainsGarbage cans in good condition, Backbar area neat and organized and Towels in good condition

Styling & Tech Area
Matching hand mirrors, Equipment stored to code and sanitized, Clean product holders, Clean hood dryers, No personal pictures or items on station or mirrors, Clean chair bases and Clean tech stations/carts

Manicure & Pedicure Area
Clean table tops / linens, Clean floor area, No personal items / pictures, Station polish in good condition and Sanitized equipment to code

Esthetic Area
TBA

Bathrooms
Clean toilets/ceramics, Clean soap dispenser, Pleasant air freshener, Clean floors/mirrors and Stocked toilet paper and paper towel

Miscellanious
No unecessary junk or clutter in view or in closets,  No burned out bulbs, Mirrors( all) clean and spot free and Baseboards-clean and dusted
